Homework: You will watch videos to learn the math you will be doing. You will begin each chapter with a pre-test. That pretest will determine which sections of the chapter you will need to study. Whatever sections you receive an 80% on you will be able to skip.
Mastery Checks After each section, you will take a mastery check quiz. You must earn an 80% to go onto the next section. If you get less than an 80%, you will do a second assignment before requiring. No notes.
Chapter Test: At the end of each unit you will be given a 200- point test. You will not be allowed to use notes on this.If you do not achieve a passing grade on the test, you will need to retake the test.
Projects and Classwork: Sometimes we will have a project that we will be doing. These will range usually between 50-200 points. Sometimes we will have a classwork assignment. These tend to be between 5 and 25 points. Late projects will NOT be accepted.

After School Help:
I will make appointments with you for assistance if you need small amounts of help. If you need daily help, you need to consider getting a tutor to help you often. I can be here after school until 3:30 everyday. If you need a longer amount of time, make an appointment with me. I cannot tutor after school past 3:30 on Fridays. I have morning responsibilities to my family, and I will not be available in the morning until 8:05. I arrive at 8am and need a couple minutes to get ready for the day. If you feel you need to catch up on your lessons, you can certainly make an appointment with me to utilize after school time to take mastery checks.
Eligibility: You need to be aware that an eligibility issue for you does not make an emergency situation for me. I will not be rushing to grade tests and other work so you can individually be eligible for your activities. You need to keep your grade up to the level your coach or the handbook requires at all times. This is YOUR
RESPONSIBILITY if you wish to play sports. I do not seek to keep anyone from playing sports, but I will not stay up all night to make you eligible. Good high school and collegiate athletes are expected to maintain good grades. It is better to come get help early than to expect additional points or assistance at the last minute.
Respect: I expect you have respectful behavior in this classroom. You must show respect to the rules, to me, to other adults who enter the room, to the school property in this room, to each other, and to yourself. Disciplinary consequences will result if you do not follow this rule.
I am looking forward to a great year. I hope you are too.
